Roundtable Dialogue on Poultry for Protein Security

Arevin Fine Chemicals India Pvt. Ltd. participated in the Roundtable Dialogue on Poultry for Protein Security on 19th March 2026 at India International Centre, New Delhi and was organised by the Indian Chamber of Food and Agriculture (ICFA) to align policy, industry and public health priorities.



The objective of this dialogue was to:

  1. Position poultry protein as a core component of India's nutrition security strategy.

  2. Identify policy and regulatory gaps affecting hygiene, safety and consumer trust.

  3. Promote science-based standards for biosecurity, antibiotic use and processing hygiene.

  4. Explore practical models for traceability and transparent labelling to reassure consumers.

  5. Highlight mechanisms to keep poultry protein safe, affordable, and accessible for all income groups



The dialogue focused on strengthening the role of poultry in advancing nutrition and protein security. The dialogue was chaired by Dr. PK Shukla, Former Joint Commissioner (Poultry), MoA&FW, GOI and Dr. Tarun Shridhar (IAS, Ex Secretary, Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying, GOI) Director General, ICFA.


The poultry industry was represented by Dr. Shirish Nigam, MD EW Nutrition GmbH, Dr. O. P. Singh, MD ABTL, Dr. Elango Palaniyandi- National Commercial Manager, Aviagen, Mr. Ricky Thaper, Jt. Secretary, PFI, Dr. Anup Kalra, former Director, Ayurvet, Mr. Gajanan Padmawar, Country Head, Hubbard, Dr. Chittranjan Behl, Chairman, Allana Group, Mr. Saurabh Gupta, Executive Member, PFI, Mr. Mohanji Saxena, former MD Ayurvet, Dr. Ashwani Kumar Rajput, Executive Director, India Egg Processors Association, Dr. T Kotaiah, MD Indbro Research and Breeding farms, Col. Vinay Kumar, Executive Director CLFMA, Mr. AK Sehajpal, General Manager, BU Head-Poultry, Arevin Fine Chemicals India Pvt. Ltd. and other eminent guests. The discussions highlighted poultry as one of the most affordable, accessible and high-quality source of protein.



Dr. PK Shukla highlighted that 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚’𝐬 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐩𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐥𝐨𝐰, 𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 & 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭 𝐮𝐩𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞. 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐤𝐞𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐲 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬. All participants also gave a feedback in this context.



Dr. Tarun Shridhar while concluding the session mentioned that ICFA remains committed to taking forward the insights from this dialogue into actionable policy recommendations for a healthier and nutritionally secure India. Such knowledge-driven platforms are essential for driving sustainable growth across the poultry industry.
